I have then gone on to guide them through the wild terrain of creating powerful impact and results as they manifest the better world that they envision.
Here is what I see standing in the way of so many talented and passionate potential leaders. They often say or think things like, “people don’t understand me.” or, “I can’t speak in front of people.” or “I am afraid if I put myself out there I will get fall short.”
Also, there is this idea that, “because I didn’t get it, how am I suppose to offer it?”

My mentoring program is designed to lift you out of old patterns and limiting beliefs, and into proactive leadership in your life and community.

I have helped hundreds of latent leaders step into their power and avoid many of the pitfalls that can come with being a visionary who brings new ways of being into the world. I totally understand that as someone who has lived on the edge, searching for a better way, that it is scary to step out of hiding in the shadows to being seen as the light that you are.
You are needed, and no time can be spared.

This includes cultural elements of inter-generational mentoring, elder projects, teen experiences, training staff, community initiatives that create peace and involvement, program development, facilitating personal, family and community ceremonies.
The mentoring process will help you break your of your rut, help you get out of your own way, and lead you to manifesting your gifts.
You will be encouraged to take risks and explore latent opportunities all while being grounded in the process. I will be the anchor who holds you accountable as you keep your feet on the right path, moving swifty but soundly in the right direction.

About the mentor:
I grew up in a time and a place where unspoken social codes, such as development erasing the natural world around me, were the norm. Nobody said anything about it.
I was born a cultural creative in an unlikely suburban town. There was no voice of recognition, no mirror, no validation of the disconnect that permeated all of my senses.
But I had a turning point that changed my life forever. I stepped off the path of college, job, home, “happiness.” I was already unhappy so the risk seemed the same, and I expected immediate death. However to my surprise, a series of synchronicity’s began guiding my life in unbelievable and unexpected directions. Creativity and invention surfaced and I discovered I was an artist all along, and that my art medium was my life. I became a cultural designer, learning to facilitate the context of learning and relationship environments.
You could say this became my mission in life, to connect and create cultural environments of connection. This was not only healing for those around me but fundamentally for myself as well.
I put my stake in the ground and went on the arduous journey of community building. I participated in lots of leadership training courses. I learned a lot about cultural initiatives such as boys’ rites of passage, re-establishing a nature based education village, returning children to the competencies of our ancestors, the role of extended family in raising healthy children and mentoring pathways to elderhood.
My life has been dedicated to reclaiming cultural approaches to repair culture. I like to leverage my efforts by mentoring leaders and establish a base line of regenerating resilient culture in everything I do.
It hasn’t been easy. I’ve struggled with founder’s syndrome, the visionary that can see the future very clearly but gets frustrated because people aren’t getting it. I have been the target of other’s negativity, struggled with discord and upset among people in organizations, who were overwhelmed with the grief and loss that came up when I simply facilitated connection routines. I struggled with my way or the highway as a leader and learned to become a tracker and healer of leader shadows. I am an expert at transparent leadership, authenticity, sharing power, knowing when to hold the line on quality control and when to empower others to take risks. I‘ve come across effective strategies to train new leaders who honor the past while creating innovative new pathways that match the challenges of the times.

Mark Morey is a creative artist, visionary educator, cultural engineer, and consultant who designs regenerative holistic communities with timeless native principles. He founded or co-founded three transformational organizations in the last 15 years: Deep Wilds, Vermont Wilderness School, and the Institute for Natural Learning, sparking a nature and community awareness movement in the Northeast. He has facilitated wilderness survival and spiritual passages for teens and adults since 1997, including over 50 week-long Art of Mentoring programs for adults, and 8 years of Sacred Fire rites of passage for teen boys. Mark feels inspired by the hero’s journey model and the oral history of his ancestors and native people around the world.
